Best Greasemonkey Scripts: Gmail Full Width

When reading emails in Gmail there are typically some ads and other things located alongside the email for quick access. There are plenty of scripts and tools available to remove those ads, but many don't make use of the unusually large empty space that despairingly sits there.

Some people need a lot of storage but not a lot of bandwidth, or visa versa. When you're considering what backup service to use I recommend checking out Jungle Disk, which in a way offers the best of all worlds.

A couple of weeks we wrote up a tutorial on how to create a single batch file that would simultaneously launch several different applications. It's a handy little trick that many people found useful because they are frequently running the same programs on their computer. For example, when you start your computer you might open a browser, media player, and document editor.

Weather Underground Lite

One of my favorite sites to get the latest weather information has always been Weather Underground (). They provide a lot of details about the weather from around the world, and always have what I consider to be the best static/animated radar imagery. Despite having used the service for years it wasn't until yesterday that I realized there was a Weather Underground Lite () available.

eBay Lowers Listing Fees, Raises Final Value Fee

eBay has angered a lot of sellers over the years because they are frequently jacking up the cost of their fees to list the items. They are trying to make amends with all of the sellers by lowering fees across the board, which will become effective on February 20th, 2008. Well, maybe not all the way across the board.

Make Your Own Twitter with WordPress

I've been using Twitter more and more these days, and it has surprisingly become a nice way to communicate with friends. That's one of the reasons why Automattic, the founders of WordPress, decided that they should make their own Twitter using WordPress. I mean why not, WordPress already has posting capabilities so it's all about skinning really.

CyberNotes: Add Album Art in iTunes

Album art seems to be the hot new craze these days, and with Apple's Cover Flow (pictured below) more people want their library of music to be filled with gorgeous artwork. Cover Flow has changed the way that I find songs to listen to, and for that reason I wanted to show how you can use iTunes to retrieve your favorite album art.

Moving…

This is just a quick note to all of our readers to let you know that this week will be a bit different in terms of a writing schedule because we are moving! As many of you know from reading us (or if you've read our About section), Ryan and I are both from the Chicagoland area, but we've been living in Iowa for the last 4 1/2 years to go to school at Iowa State University.

LEGO’s 50th Anniversary!

It's been 50 years since the LEGO brick was patented, and since then hundreds of billions of the beloved little pieces have been pumped out of factories for your building enjoyment. What's even harder to believe is that the LEGO bricks being sold in stores today will still work with the originals dating back 50 years!

Spy Satellite Headin’ For Earth

Alert! Alert! Danger Alert! According to the New York Times, you may want to watch for a "small-bus" sized object falling from the sky in late February or early March.  Apparently there is a United States spy satellite which can no longer be controlled due to power loss which will be plummeting to Earth soon.

Good Things Happen to Good People

This was sent to us as a tip from "kiltboy," and after reading it we just couldn't help but write about it. It's a story about a New York taxi cab passenger who had found a camera left behind by someone else when they got into the cab. They used the 350 pictures and 2 videos that were on the camera to hunt down the owners:
