Back in 1996 when my parents took the plunge and signed-up for  the Internet for the first time, they had three different options for plans. Either they could choose something like 15 or 30 hours per month, or they could pay quite a bit more to get the unlimited hours plan.

iTunes Video Rentals Hacked Already

It's inevitable that people would find ways to get the most out of Apple's new video rental service available via iTunes, but I expected it to be this easy. The hack that has emerged is like the oldest trick in the book when it comes to circumventing time-restricted materials on your computer, and I figured by this day in age companies like Apple would been a little wiser.

Pingdom Tools 2.0 just launched, and it's a free tool that any website designer will surely love. The AJAX-powered service accepts a URL, and in return it graphs out the loading time of the website showing what files caused a slow load time.

Mozilla’s Progress on Platform-Specific Themes

We've known about Mozilla's plans to provide platform specific themes to users in Firefox 3, and it looks as though some glimpses of what the future holds is now in our hands. Those of you on a Mac and testing out Firefox 3 nightlies are able to install an extension dubbed as Proto for Mac OS X. Once installed you'll be able to see all of the eye candy that's pictured above.

All you Europeans out there will be quick to tell us North Americaners about how you've already 3D navigation maps thanks to the Nav N Go iGO8. Sure, you got the iPhone after we did, but there a lot of things that Europeans get before we do - and 3D maps on GPS devices are one of them.

Yahoo Jumps in to Support OpenID… Yay!

While people have criticized that OpenID's have security weaknesses and may be vulnerable to phishing attacks, more and more sites are starting to use them.  Case in point... Yahoo! Yahoo just announced support for OpenID which is huge.  In case you're not familiar with it, OpenID is a decentralized single sign-on system meaning with one OpenID, you can sign into multiple sites.
