MyFive: Must-Have Gadgets and Features for Cars

This past weekend we took advantage of living back in the Chicago area and headed down to the Chicago Auto Show.  Apparently we still have cars on our minds because we are focusing today's MyFive feature on gadget-equipped cars which there were plenty of at the show! Today's MyFive is a list of different gadgets that you can find in cars on the market today that may (or may not)become standard in vehicles over time.

Netflix Dumping HD DVD, too

Netflix just announced today that they will be acquiring no more HD DVD titles as they begin their transition to Blu-ray as their sole high-def DVD format. This might be the nail in the coffin for those of you who were still skeptical about a clear winner already emerging in the Blu-ray vs. HD DVD format war.

Starbucks Leaves T-Mobile Behind, Partners up with AT&T

Popular coffeehouse chain Starbucks has ditched T-Mobile for AT&T after a six year partnership of offering Wi-Fi Internet.  In the United States alone, there are 8,891 T-Mobile Hot Spots like the ones found inside Starbucks coffeehouses.  Once AT&T takes over all of those locations, the number of Hot Spots will decrease significantly.

Google Android Devices Demonstrated

Right now the Mobile World Congress is going on in Barcelona, and sites like Gizmodo and Engadget are there taking in all of the gadget goodness. Google Android is, as expected, a hot topic of the show. Although still early in development there are some devices available that have been whipped up to serve as a development platform.

Yahoo Says They’re Not Ready to be Microhoo

It's been a little over a week since news broke that Microsoft offered to acquire Yahoo for $44.6 billion. Their offer translated out to about $31 dollars per share which many people had said was too low for a company that was trading at that price not long ago. Sure enough, Yahoo felt that the offer undervalued them and formally rejected Microsoft.
