Windows Live SkyDrive Launches with 5GB of Storage

Microsoft just publicly launched their Windows Live SkyDrive service which now offers a whopping 5GB of storage at no cost. In the testing stage users were only given 1GB of storage space, and it was only expected that Microsoft would up that to 2GB upon launch. Well, we're happy to say that they proved us wrong.

Skype Reaches 100 Billion Minute Milestone

An announcement over at the Skype blog on February 13th almost went unnoticed. Skype's Villu Arak wrote up a post a week ago and mentioned how 100 billion humans have walked on this planet and the human brain has 100 billion neurons. What does Skype have in common with those two facts? The number 100 billion. That's how many Skype-to-Skype free minutes have been used among Skype users over time.

Back in August last year, screenshots emerged which gave us an idea of what Google's Health service was going to look like. At the time we noted that the success of Google Health was largely dependent on doctors using computerized records versus the standard paper option. It appears as though Google has found a place to test out Google Health where computerized records were already in use.

CyberNotes: Rotate Your Screen Orientation

Whenever I'm at home I hookup my laptop to a secondary 24" monitor to drastically increase the amount of screen space available to me. When I'm working on programming projects I will rotate my monitor so that it is oriented vertically (a.k.a. portrait mode), which I think is something most programmers do when they have widescreen monitors.
