Canon and Microsoft Team for “Top 100 Photo Contest”

Canon and Microsoft have teamed up for what they're calling the "Top 100 Photo Contest." They're offering a grand prize package worth $10,000, but they're also offering other prizes including a 1st place prize and people's choice awards.

Sinofsky (Barely) Discusses Windows 7

Microsoft has been very quiet on what to expect from Windows 7, and that's to be expected after they over-promised on Vista thereby leading to a lot of disappointment. Despite Microsoft's best efforts to keep things under wraps they still have a hard time dealing with leaks, and if rumors are right there's yet another milestone right around the corner.

RIAA Drops the AllofMP3 $1.65 Trillion Dollar Lawsuit

Remember all of the fuss that the RIAA made over AllofMP3? They sued the Russian music website for a whopping $1.65 trillion back in December of 2006, and now that lawsuit has been dropped. Yes dropped.

Solar Powered iPods Coming to a Store Near You?

It's always interesting to see the patents that different technology companies file because sometimes (not always), it gives us an idea of what's to come. The latest patent filed by Apple is for "solar cells on portable devices" which gives us an idea that they just might be solar cells to the iPhone and/or iPods.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Beta

When we announced back in March that Photoshop CS4 had been leaked there were (and still are) some skeptics that it's the real deal. The timing of the leak seemed about right since the Adobe Creative Suite is on an 18 to 24 month release cycle, which would place the final release of Adobe CS4 somewhere between October 2008 and April 2009.

Can you believe it's already been a year since Viacom tried to purge Google's money bank with a $1 billion dollar lawsuit against YouTube? Ever since March of last year (2007) when the lawsuit was filed, we hadn't really heard much of what was going on, until yesterday.

It's crazy to think about how unpopular encyclopedias have become thanks to the various references found online, and the same thing is happening to dictionaries. These days word processors (and other apps) are integrating dictionaries so that they are even more useful to the end user.
