Quickly Turn Aero Transparency on and off in Vista

I think Microsoft did a great job with the Aero transparency interface in Vista, but there might be times were you'd want to turn it off. Maybe you're trying to take a screenshot and don't want to include the contents seen through the window? The normal process that you would have to go through takes several clicks of the mouse:

Gmail Redesigned 2.0 Released; Better Gmail Updated

I know that there are a lot of you out there who are using the Gmail Redesigned skin, and you'll be happy to know that version 2 of the theme was recently released for all Firefox users. This new version includes a few dozen bug fixes, but more importantly they focused on increasing the performance.

Earlier today when we saw Google Blogoscoped point out some of the issues that search engine Cuil was having with placing random images of people next to searches for popular people like Bill Clinton and Eric Schmidt (they display a photo of Steve Ballmer next to him, is that not funny?), we thought we'd see what kinds of problems Cuil had with products, services, and companies.

Some of you may remember when Dell attempted make a name for themselves in the digital music player market by launching a couple of different music players in 2003. And you may remember that in 2006 they decided to end production of both their hard drive and flash-based players because they simply could not compete with Apple and the iPod.

Google Maps Gets A Makeover

Yesterday when I pulled up Google Maps, a site I frequently visit, Ryan looked over and right away noticed that the interface was different. My response was, "it is?" I stared at the sight for a good minute trying to figure out what was different and finally Ryan pointed out the changes. Google did in fact give Maps a makeover, but our guess is that some of you won't even notice.

A few weeks ago we wrote about a Firefox extension that could post to Twitter right from the address bar, and it impressed me to say the least. One commenter, who goes by the name lilmoder, cleverly pointed out that you can do the same thing in Opera using its keyword search functionality.
