CyberNotes: CyberSearch Firefox Extension

Yesterday we announced the new Firefox extension that we launched called CyberSearch (our homepage for CyberSearch). It is based on the original version of AwesomeSearch (now called Searchery), and the reason I decided to create the extension was because I saw how it could make me more productive. Hopefully what I've come up with can be useful for you as well.

We wanted to give our readers a heads up that we are officially launching the CyberSearch Firefox extension tomorrow morning, but you can get your hands on it right now! It is based on the original version of AwesomeSearch, which is now called Searchery. We had contacted the developer of that extension with some of the ideas that we had, but unfortunately we never heard back from him.

Amazon Kindle to Replace Textbooks?

In the fall of 2008 Princeton will join the ranks of Yale, Oxford, and UC Berkeley by offering some textbooks on Amazon's Kindle e-reader. The Kindle sells for $359 by Amazon, and uses Sprint's high-speed EVDO data network to let customers download new books on-the-go. The device has actually been more popular than I anticipated, and it's now catching the attention of universities.

Firefox Weave 0.2: Sync Bookmarks, Tabs, History, Passwords, and More

Google might not be actively working on the Google Browser Sync extension for Firefox, but that doesn't mean you can't sync your bookmarks, tabs, passwords, and more! Mozilla just released Weave 0.2, which is a major milestone for their homegrown extension.

Digg Prepares To Launch Recommendation Engine

Digg is trying to make the process of discovering new content a little bit easier by introducing The Recommendation Engine which is currently in the beta stage and available to of Digg's registered users. Digg's Kevin Rose posted about this new Recommendation Engine and said that there are now more than 16,000 stories submitted every single day in the Upcoming section.
