The weekend is here, and I'm sure you're wondering how you can burn through hours and hours of your precious time by doing productive. Like always, we've got you covered. Go download the free Phun program, and let your imagination run wild.
It's always interesting to see how many companies are up for the challenge of making a name for themselves in the online music industry.
Ryan and I got to talking about traveling recently and how we snap hundreds of pictures when we take trips thanks to digital cameras. Back when we used a 35mm camera, very few photos were taken simply because it was limiting, and sometimes a hassle to get them developed.
Microsoft has brought back the Office 2007 Ultimate for students at a geekilicous price. When you visit TheUltimateSteal.com students will be able to receive Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate for just $60. That's a whopping 91% off of the retail cost.
Panoramic photos seem to be becoming more common these days as people carry cameras with them wherever they go. In the past we've shown you tools like AutoStitch and Windows Live Photo Gallery that make assembling panoramic photos effortless, but the free Hugin program is much more customizable.
Think Geek has been known to come up with some great April Fools products to sell on their site. Back in 2006 on April Fools Day they came up with "Wireless Extension Cords" (wireless power) to sell and under the "Availability" section of the page, they put "no suing." It was clearly a joke to some, but to others like Computer Power User Magazine, they thought it was real.
With Windows XP there were several PowerToys that added awesome features to the operating system, such as virtual desktops. Unfortunately with the release of Vista many of those free applications no longer worked, and users were left trying to find alternatives.
A couple of days ago, Flickr released their new and improved Flickr slideshows.
Welcome to Daily Downloads brought to you by CyberNet! Each weekday we bring you software updates for widely used programs, and it's safe to assume that all the software we list is freeware (we'll try to note the paid-only programs).
You've heard of Murphy's law before, I'm sure - "If anything can go wrong, it will" or "whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way." Since Murphy's Law came about a long time ago, there have been all kinds of variations to it.
I'm sure you often find yourself in a situation where you're reading an article, and then come across a word that you want to lookup. Maybe you jump over to Wikipedia or an online dictionary to get a definition, but the LookItUp2 Greasemonkey script can save you a lot of time.
Mozilla has announced the winners of the Extend Firefox 3 add-on contest. This is where extension developers submitted their add-ons to try and win prizes like a MacBook Air, and the winners definitely deserved it. I did submit our CyberSearch extension to see if it'd win, but it looks like it didn't make the cut. :(
Back in the beginning of June we told you about how Microsoft is serious about improving their brand by hiring a big name in the advertising market to put together a campaign for them.
Recently EA found themselves in a position where they could admit that there was a glitch in a game, or turn it into an amazing marketing experience. They chose the latter of the two, and it has worked out quite well for them.
After yesterday's article about Mozilla rolling out Firefox 3 update notifications it's clear that there are still some of you who don't intend on making the leap to Firefox 3 just yet. Maybe you're still waiting for extensions to get updated, have problems running Firefox 3 on your computer, or just don't want the new features it offers.
It was just a few days ago that we got an idea of where Microsoft's Photosynth technology could potentially go in the future thanks to a project called "Finding Paths through the World's Photos." In the article, Ryan mentioned that the project involved some pretty awe-inspiring technology, which reminded him of Photosynth, another project by Microsoft.

One of the things that Apple hasn't made easy for iPhone owners is providing a way to create custom ringtones in Windows. If you're a Mac owner you can use GarageBand, but Apple doesn't provide that application on Windows.
Those of you who are still using Firefox 2 should be getting the update notification in the next week saying that Firefox 3 is available for download. Mozilla would obviously like all of their users to upgrade to the latest version of the browser, but the real question is whether they will.
