New Poll: What Do You Think of Google Chrome?

Now that Google Chrome has been available for about two months, we thought we'd take the opportunity to poll CyberNet readers to see what they think of it. For those who may not yet know what Google Chrome is all about, it's Google's free web browser that launched into beta in early September. We originally asked what you thought of it a day after it launched and got mixed opinions.

Flip-3D Style Firefox Tab Switching

Mozilla has decided that in Firefox 3.1 they want users to have a fresh new way to switch between tabs in a browser window. That's why they've come up with a system that resembles Apple's Cover Flow for moving from one tab to another. What if you want a bit more eye candy though?

Download Vista SP2 Beta via Windows Update

If you like to stay on the bleeding edge of technology (and you're running Vista) you may want to consider modifying two registry keys on your system so that you can participate in the Vista SP2 Beta program. To join the program all you have to do is download this batch file, and run it on your Vista machine as an administrator.

Daily Switching Between Vista and Mac Causing Brain Confusion

April was a big month for us. Some of you may recall that it was then that we took the plunge and bought MacBook Pros. Thinking back, our first week was a bit painful. It took time to "re-train" our brains to think differently.

CyberNotes: First Look at Cruz for Mac

Web browsers are becoming more and more important to our everyday lives because they help keep us connected, informed, and productive. So it's no wonder that there are several different people competing to be successful in this area including Microsoft, Mozilla, Apple, Opera, and now even Google.

Windows 7 Taskbar Screenshots & Video

Microsoft unveiled Windows 7 today at the Professional Developers Conferences (PDC). There wasn't anything too unbelievable, but they did show off a revamped Taskbar that some are saying is inspired by Mac's Dock. Windows 7 will use what looks like oversized quick launch icons. Don't be fooled though. Those icons are used to not only start apps, but also switch between them.

CodeWeavers CrossOver Pro Free Today Only

CodeWeavers are the people behind the free and open source implementation of the Wine project. Most Linux users are familiar with this project because this is how they can run Windows programs in Linux without needing any kind of virtual machine. Well, the same people behind Wine also develop a more professional-grade product called CrossOver Pro that's available for both Mac and Linux.

Adobe Photoshop CS4 Cracked Already

Adobe has presented hackers with yet another challenge thanks to their new breed of Creative Suite 4 (CS4) applications that were released less than two weeks ago. They try do everything they can to stop software pirates from stealing their programs, but it's inevitable that someone somewhere will find a workaround.

CyberNet Update: Daily Downloads Merges with WrapUp’s

Our Daily Downloads articles have been one of my favorite things to do because I'm the type of person who keeps a close eye on software. Unfortunately they are also rather time consuming because of all the information we try to aggregate into one central location.

CyberNotes: Add Shoutcast Radio Streams to iTunes

I've always enjoyed listening to Internet radio stations because I don't have to worry about putting together my own playlists of music. iTunes has a decent selection of these radio stations available, but Apple has full control over what appears in that section of the media player. Fortunately that doesn't mean you can't add some of your own favorite radio streams to iTunes.

Safari’s Inquisitor Comes to Firefox

Back in May 2008 Yahoo! acquired a search add-on called Inquisitor that brought "find as you type" search results to Safari. Since then there hasn't been much news about what's going on behind the scenes, but there didn't seem to be much development... at least not on the Safari front. They've apparently been working on a version of the add-on that also works in Firefox.

Helpful Tip: Drag and Drop Using Exposé

Seeing that Ashley and I are still relatively new to the Mac world we are still finding some little gems that demonstrate Apple's eye for detail. A fine example of this is something I saw on the help page Apple developed to explain what Exposé is. It was there that I found out you can drag and drop files from one window to another using Exposé:

Mozilla released Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 the other day, and users playing with version 3.1 for the first time will be able to enjoy some of the enhancements it brings to the table. What We’ve Been Up To…

Hi guys (and gals!)! We've been getting emails over the last month or so asking what we've been up to since we cut back our writing schedule. Now that life has calmed down (a little), we thought we'd share just what it is that's filling our time these days.

Apple’s New 13-inch MacBook and 15-inch MacBook Pro

Over the last several weeks, you may have heard people talking about "supposed" changes Apple was going to make to their MacBook laptops. Some of what we heard turned out to be just rumors, but much turned out to be true.
