Giveaway: USB Docking Station with VGA Support

This is the one and only hardware item that we have up for grabs in our birthday giveaway, and we've been able to play around with it for about a month now. It's a USB Docking Station by StarTech that also happens to support a VGA input. How does it work? You can basically plug in several USB devices, a VGA monitor, ethernet cable, and more into this slim little dock.

Giveaway: MediaMonkey Media Manager

Last year MediaMonkey was among the most requested software package that we gave away, and so they were more than happy to help out with a giveaway once again this year. Over the last year they have made a lot of improvements to MediaMonkey 3.0 to make it both more stable and also add support for even more devices.

Giveaway: Button Shop Creates Great-Looking Buttons

When making a website or application, one of the things designers want to focus on is the look and feel of the buttons used. After all, it is one of the things that users will be interacting with the most. A program like Button Shop can take some of the pressure off your shoulders by making it super easy to design amazing buttons that fit in well with your website or program.

Giveaway: Direct Access Text Replacement

I've always been a huge supporter of text expanding applications because I'm a shortcut junky. When it comes to saving time, there is no better way to do it than to transform a few characters into entire sentences. Direct Access doubles as both a text replacement utility and application launcher, and its recently redesigned interface makes managing all of your "macros" a breeze.

Giveaway: RoboForm Pro Password & Form Filler

For many people, RoboForm is considered to be one of those must-have applications for any Windows computer. I know quite a few people who are using the free version, but there are several restrictions such as only being able to store 10 passcards (these are basically stored passwords). With the Pro version you can store as many passcards, identities, credit cards, and addresses as you'd like.

Giveaway: AnVir Task Manager

I know that we have a bunch of geeks who read our site, and they probably enjoy knowing every little thing that their computer is doing. The Windows Task Manager is a great way to do that, but sometimes you want to take it to the next level. That's where AnVir Task Manager comes into play.

Giveaway: GoodSync File Synchronization & Backup

I'm one of the biggest advocates for file backups that you'll probably come across. I've now had four hard drives die on me in the past two years, but I actually haven't lost any data thanks to keeping redundant backups. You can never be too safe, and GoodSync is an excellent backup/synchronization utility that will help you protect your data as well.

Giveaway: Remember The Milk Pro Accounts

Back in August of 2006, we wrote about a Free Simple Task Manager called Remember the Milk. At the time, Remember the Milk had been around for about a year and they were still in the process of making a name for themselves. Three years have past since they launched and they now have over one million users and their service is one of the best around. With time, it has continued to get even better.

Microsoft SkyDrive Jumps to 25GB Free Online Storage

Microsoft is trying hard to show people that they are serious about online storage, and I'd say they are doing a darn good job of it. They just updated their SkyDrive online file storage service with numerous new features, but more importantly they bumped up the free storage quota from a mere 5GB to 25GB.

Opera 10 Gets Inline Spell Checking and More

I've been waiting to see what Opera had in store for us in version 10, and it looks like everyone is finally getting a peak. In fact I'm a bit surprised by what has been revealed so far, but in a good way. For awhile it seemed like other browsers were trying to find their own ways to adopt features that were first introduced in Opera, but the opposite never really happened.

Zoundry Raven: Free Blogging Software

My favorite blogging software has always been Windows Live Writer because of the tremendous job Microsoft has done maintaining and adding more and more useful features to it. The interface is nice, inline spell checking catches mistakes as I make them, and the overall experience is very positive.

Free Firefox Memory with TooManyTabs Extension

Last week Cody sent me in a tip for an experimental Firefox extension that I just had to try out. It's called TooManyTabs, and it essentially adds another tab bar to your Firefox window where you can temporarily store some of your existing tabs. To do this all you have to do is hover over a tab, and you'll see the tab's icon turn into an up arrow (as seen in the screenshot above).
