Kevin Rose claims to know what the new iPod nano is going to look like and if he’s right, Apple is going back to more of the original look. As you’ll see in the photo below, they are ditching the “fat” look and going for a longer/slimmer look:

Here are some claims Rose has made about this new nano and other Apple products:

  • The new nano will be priced much cheaper (thanks to the cheaper iPhone)
  • The iPod touch will receive a few cosmetic changes
  • iTunes 8.0 will launch about the time that the iPods are refreshed and supposedly comes with big changes

If this turns out to be the new look for the nano, is Apple on the right track by ditching the wider nano for one that is more slim and long?

  1. I think they are doing the longer slimmer design to make video viewing better and be able to do widescreen viewing for movies, shows, etc.

You’re probably right — iPods aren’t just for music these days, that’s for sure!

  3. I know this is besides the point, but those modular glass walls of “NanaWall” really captured my attention.

Are “Nana-Walls” related in any way with “Apple Nanos”?

  4. Looks just ugly…. But itunes is long overdue for something new.

  5. If it’s good, I’ll be buying my first iPod when it arrives :D

  6. “iTunes 8.0 will launch about the time that the iPods are refreshed and supposedly comes with big changes”
How many more ‘big changes’ can Apple bring to iTunes? They already offer podcasts, music downloads, TV programs, audiobooks, iTunes U, apps and iPod games (the old ones). Perhaps they mean a redesign and a speedup?

Some more options would be great…just program options to tweak things for the power user.

I heard something about a recommendations engine being added that will recommend other songs you’d probably like based upon your library. Sounded almost like what Last.FM does, but you’d obviously have to buy the songs to listen to the whole thing.
