Our iPhone 3G costs 525 euro (a whopping 810 dollar!) in Belgium because the cell phone provider that sells it is not allowed to tie a subscription to it. The funniest part though is that, from those 525 euro, their profit is just 5 euro (7.7 dollar). This once again proves that Apple’s prices are ridiculous.

Maybe once the demand for the device dies down they’ll go ahead and lower the price. That is pretty crazy though. The 16GB model over hear will be $699 for those that don’t want to buy it on an AT&T account. Luckily we were able to get our 16GB for $299 since AT&T subsidized it.

I’m sure you’ll be getting more soon. As of last night almost all Apple stores in the United States had the 16GB black iPhone 3G in stock, which should mean they’ve got plenty to go around here. I’m wondering what the AT&T stores are like in terms of stock though.

There would be many more sales in Spain if they actually had any stock in the country. One month on from the launch and there still aren’t any in Barcelona.

And to think, come August 22nd they will be selling them in more countries! Perhaps they should try to meet the demand in existing markets before expanding?
