Bummer! I never win anything …write a two page essay and will guarantee myself the prize..totally unfair!

Everyone had an fair chance of winning.
There were a total of 32 comments of which only 29 were in the draw (since 3 comments were made by Ryan & Ashley). So a little math would tell us that the probability of anyone winning = C(28,1)/C(29,2) = 2/29 ~= 6.9%

And congrats to CoryC & Frustrated!!!

Good question, and actually, not one that we've considered yet. I haven't talked to Ryan about it.. but I would assume him and I would agree that no, winners can't repeat. We'll have to include that little "clause" with our next giveaway.

@ri: Unfortunately with 2 prizes to give away and multiple entries there are lots of people that won’t win anything.

Also, writing a two page essay won’t give you any better odds than writing one line or two. It was random. And by random, we do it the conventional pick a number out of a hat… literally. Sure there are more sophisticated ways to do it, but it works and it’s easy. If we wanted long essays, we’d ask for it, but we have better things to do with our time, like scouring the internet for news to share with our readers– than read long essays. And I’m sure our reader’s have better things to do with their time than write long essays.

We’d love to give away a license for the software to everybody, but, we can’t.

And guess what? I’ve never won anything either Sometimes that’s the way it goes.I’m sure if you’ve asked the people that have won giveaways from our site before if they’ve won anything previously.. their answer would probably be no too. Sorry you’re disappointed.
