Most people I know that have an account use it to catch up with old high school friends or other people they've lost contact with. They've made it really easy to search your just people from schools you've attended.

At this point I think MySpace is popular because its what every is doing. Friends tell eachother that they *have* to get a MySpace account, and I have had plenty of people try to get me to create one. It just seems like too much work trying to keep up with all the surveys that people post. I hated getting those in an email, and it wouldn't be any different on MySpace.

Yeah i agree, the whole premise just blows my mind.

You make a page, put your picture on it, say a very small amount of information about yourself, and...?

From what i understand random people who you have never met leave a comment on your page about...?

I just can't figure it out. Maybe people who use Myspace generally never use the Internet, so the whole internet thing is just new and exiting to them, even if the activity they participate in is absolute moronic.

Imagine these same people playing a MMO like Warcraft (although it's not that hard to imagine, just look at Counter Strike (although i still think players on counter strike are more intelligent than the average Myspace user)), the amazement they would feel, the exitment, they would probably be hooked on it for years.

Sorry, went alittle off topic. :)

Yet another thing I don't understand the appeal, alure or whatever it is with MySpace. I have no desire to have a MySpace page much less visit one.

I was in an Apple store last week at the local mall and basically I was playing around for about 20 minutes before any of the people working there even bothered coming over and asking me if I needed any help with anything. Mainly they stood around talking to each other and ignored the customers. I was impressed with the new machines but they are still out of my price range for now.
