At the beginning, the catastrophe prophets were foretelling that Apple had no chance in the mobile domain, due to lack of experience. Since the iPhone made its splash on stage, it has been leading the pack.

It is impressive that they can come out of nowhere and be so successful with their product. I think the excitement will start to die down after this release, kind of how it did with the iPod. When they first became popular they were talked about all over the place, but now they’ve become so common that they aren’t mentioned very often.
