Apple’s Showtime To Bring A New iTunes?

September 11th, 2006

Apple Showtime Apple has a big event tomorrow called Showtime and rumors are already starting to fly about what new thing they could bring to the table. One of the most reasonable rumors that I have heard was from TUAW.com who is taking a stab in the dark at a new release of iTunes.

Their reasoning is simply the fact that it has been 11 months since the last version of iTunes was released. One of their commenters even brought up the possibility of a name change, after all they are getting into the movie market and iTunes doesn’t really capture the program’s total capabilities.

Showtime starts tomorrow at 10:00 AM PDT and several sites, such as Gizmodo, are going to have live coverage of the event. Everyone is probably getting all worked up just to be disappointed that Apple doesn’t have anything big planned.
