Finally, Vista 5365 (The April CTP) has now been released and surprisingly it was done on the weekend. Microsoft Connect testers can jump over and download it, but for those people that aren't testers you'll have to scrounge around for a Torrent.

Microsoft Targets Colleges For Their Windows Live Mail

It appears that Microsoft is now targeting colleges from around the world to use their Windows Live Mail service. Microsoft offers colleges these services at no cost to the university and in return the university is getting a well-maintained mail server system. Currently there are 72 universities that have signed on with Microsoft and there are still 200 more that Microsoft is going to pursue.

Microsoft Has Plans To Produce A ‘Cooler’ Xbox 360

Microsoft now has plans on producing a cooler (as in less heat dissipation) Xbox 360 by next year. They will do this by upgrading the CPU using a 65-nanometer manufacturing technique which will lower the heat that the Xbox releases.

Google Honors The Request To Remove Miro Logo

To honor the anniversary of Joan Miro, a Spanish surrealist, Google had altered their logo to what you see in the image on the side. Joan Miro was born in 1893 and passed away in 1983. Joan Miro's family had contacted Google and requested that the logo be removed because of underlying copyrights that were violated. Google complied with the request and promptly removed the logo from their page.

GMail Drive 1.0.10 Has Been Released

For those people that are using your GMail accounts for file storage then you might want to grab this update to GMail Drive (if GMail Drive is what you are using, there is also a Firefox extension that does this). The GMail Drive update fixes a bug where it would tell you that there is no room left to upload files, but in reality you would have plenty of room.

Yahoo Is Testing Out A New Homepage

It appears that Yahoo is testing out a new homepage with a completely redesigned layout. From the image you can tell that they are trying to condense all of their navigation into a few key spots (notably the sidebar). I believe that this is a nicer interface than the current Yahoo Homepage but it still seems to have a lot of information stuffed on to one page.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like the April CTP of Windows Vista will not be released today. Bink.nu has posted a letter from Paul Donnelly that was directed to the Windows Vista Beta Tester's Newsgroups that says they have no intentions of releasing the next CTP of Vista today.
