I’ve noticed that as well. It’s nice that the developers are working so hard on those extensions, but the frequent updates can get annoying when it happens almost every time you start your browser.

Checking for updates every launch of Firefox is overkill by Firefox or by this extension. I prefer to check for updates manually from "Find Updates" within Tolls>Add-ons. Checking once a week or so is more than enough for me. Updates are researched and I decide whether or not they are installed. Problematic updates are avoided. No automatic update check has the added benefit of a faster launch of Firefox as well. I turn off the automatic check for extension updates.
Checking for updates every launch of Firefox is
