Mac only Making one browser look like another has been a trend for ages. More often than not users like the functionality of a browser, but don't exactly like how it looks on the particular operating system.

CyberNotes: Performance Monitoring

I'm one of those stat geeks that love to know everything I can about what my computer is doing. It's not that I use the information to do much, but a quick glance at the CPU or memory usage has, at times, helped me figure out why my computer is going so darn slow. For example, a spike in memory usage is typically the result of an app that likely needs to be restarted.

CyberNotes: View How-to Videos and Wiki-Guides with Howcast

In the past we've written about a few different "How-To" sites on the web that offer tutorials on how to do something. So far we have covered WonderHowTo and Expert Village, both sites which have excellent guides. Today we're taking a look at another solution called Howcast.

CyberNotes: More Dumb Laws from Around the U.S.

Back in November last year, we had some fun looking at some pretty dumb laws from around the United States. We decided to revisit the topic because there are so many more crazy laws out there. Once again, you won't believe some of the funny, crazy, not to mention dumb laws that are found around the Country (an actually, around the World).

CyberNotes: Assign Driver Letters to Folders in Windows

On your computer there are probably just a handful of folders that you access everyday, and wouldn't it be nice to make them even easier to access? One way to do that is to assign your most used folders to drive letters on your Windows machine, which puts them just a click away from your mouse.

CyberNotes: CyberSearch Firefox Extension

Yesterday we announced the new Firefox extension that we launched called CyberSearch (our homepage for CyberSearch). It is based on the original version of AwesomeSearch (now called Searchery), and the reason I decided to create the extension was because I saw how it could make me more productive. Hopefully what I've come up with can be useful for you as well.

CyberNotes: Get Company Reviews and Salary Information

When I was in college, one website I always checked before a new semester started was "RateMyProfessors.com." It's a site dedicated to rating professors. Students can create an account, and then rate the teachers they had for all to see which helps out future students so that they know what they're getting into before school starts.

CyberNotes: Is it a fact? A Tribute to MythBusters

You've seen that show MythBusters before, haven't you? If you haven't, you're missing out. It's a show on the Discovery Channel that focuses on "busting" myths. They take a variety of rumors, popular beliefs, and urban legends, and then put them to the test to see if they're really facts, or just myths.

CyberNotes: Override & Modify Keyboard Shortcuts on a Mac

For me using a computer without keyboard shortcuts would be like trying to cut the grass with a pair of scissors. Sure it could be done, but it would take a lot longer to accomplish a task that should take no time at all.

CyberNotes: A Look at Microsoft’s Zune

With all of the frenzy surrounding Apple's iPod, Microsoft's Zune seems to have been forgotten about even though it's a quality product. While a majority of people out there have at least heard of the iPod, there are probably still many who don't really know the Zune exists. And those that have heard of it may not be aware of some of the great features that it offers.

When we think of people who are lacking computer skills, we can't help but also think of people who are lacking car repair skills. Both groups of people can be at an extreme disadvantage because of their lack of knowledge if something were to go wrong with their computer or their car.

CyberNotes: Recreating Classics Using Legos

Back in the 1940's in Europe, little interlocking bricks called "Automatic Binding Bricks" were created. They had little round "studs" on the top, and the bottoms were rectangular in shape and hollow. The studs allowed the bricks to be connected together to create something, and then later on taken apart to create something different.

CyberNotes: Sticky Notes for your Windows Desktop

Windows only Sticky notes are one of those things that many of us have grown accustomed to placing all over our physical workspace, and our children. They serve as a great way to remember important things, but eventually you have so many of them that it becomes difficult to find what you're looking for. That pretty much defeats their purpose, doesn't it?
