MyFive: Things the iPhone Does Better Than Other Phones…

About a week ago we wrote a MyFive including five things we wished the iPhone 3G had. Among them were more than a 2 megapixel camera, a flash for the camera and video recording, multimedia messaging service, a replaceable battery, and a 32GB option.

Apple Can Remotely Remove Bad Apps From Your iPhone

There are both pros and cons to the fact that Apple has so much control over iPhone application distribution. One area that they have control over which might be seen as both a pro and a con is the removal of "bad apps" from a phone. You read that right, Apple has the capability of disabling unauthorized or malicious applications from your phone.

A Look at Global Sales of the iPhone 3G

Details are emerging about where the first million iPhone 3Gs were sold. At WWDC in June, Steve Jobs stressed availability and how the iPhone 3G would be sold in more countries than ever at an affordable price. July 11th was the launch day for 22 countries, and 70 more countries will eventually be selling them.

Dell Will Try to Compete with the iPod, Again…

Some of you may remember when Dell attempted make a name for themselves in the digital music player market by launching a couple of different music players in 2003. And you may remember that in 2006 they decided to end production of both their hard drive and flash-based players because they simply could not compete with Apple and the iPod.

CyberNotes: A Review of the iPhone 3G

As promised, today we'll be reviewing the iPhone 3G. Now that we've had it for about two weeks, we felt as though we could give an accurate and honest review. We'll cover what we think of the GPS, 3G data speeds, applications, the new firmware, and more...

MyFive: Things We Wished the iPhone 3G Had

As we've mentioned, CyberNet's iPhone 3G review will be coming within the next week or so. We decided not to post it right away so we could have ample time to test out all of the new features. In the mean time, we thought we'd fill ya in on five things we wished the iPhone 3G had. It sure is a nice device, but it isn't perfect. Here's what we'd like to see on a 3rd generation iPhone.

iPhone 3G News Round-Up

There's been a lot of missed iPhone 3G news while we were gone, so we wanted to make sure we kept everybody up-to-date with this round-up post. We'll include information from a few reviews, information about how much the iPhone 3G costs to make, what it looks like under the shiny black (or white) case, a couple of tips, and info about why it might be a pain in the butt to return a defective phone.

So We Got the iPhone 3G…

So today we took the plunge along with thousands of other people and bought the iPhone 3G. As we mentioned earlier today, we did this only because we were able to sell our original iPhones that we bought in January for $399, on eBay for $425. We sold them three days before the WWDC Keynote, so we've been without our phones for about a month.

iPhone 3G Line Started in New York Already, Seriously?

It was the 4th of July here in the United States on Friday, and most people found themselves gathering with friends and family to watch fireworks or BBQ. Not watching fireworks was a family of 3 people (later joined by about 7 more people) who decided that they were going to start the iPhone 3G line outside of the 5th Avenue Apple Store in New York a whole one week ahead of the launch.

Asus Working on an All-in-one Eee PC?

Last week we got our first glimpse of the Asus Eee Box , an ultra low-cost desktop PC that should be hitting the market soon, and now this week we're getting a look at an all-in-one computer that Asus is supposedly working on as well. When we say all-in-one, we mean that there is no separate CPU, it's built right-in to the monitor. Think iMac. Take a look at what it's expected to look like:

Amazon Kindle to Replace Textbooks?

In the fall of 2008 Princeton will join the ranks of Yale, Oxford, and UC Berkeley by offering some textbooks on Amazon's Kindle e-reader. The Kindle sells for $359 by Amazon, and uses Sprint's high-speed EVDO data network to let customers download new books on-the-go. The device has actually been more popular than I anticipated, and it's now catching the attention of universities.

Chrysler Announces In-Car Wi-Fi System

Driving seems to get more and more dangerous these days with people talking and checking email on their phones, jamming out to music, and doing whatever it is that distracts them from keeping their eyes, and their minds on the road. Several states have already passed laws prohibiting drivers from talking on their phones unless they are using a hands-free device.

A Look Inside the Lego Vault

Ever wonder what the Lego Vault looks like or what's in it (if you even knew it existed)? Recently a blogger over at Gizmodo, Jesudiaz, was able to get a one-on-one tour of the Lego Vault. This is where all of the Lego sets that were ever created are kept. Any guesses on how many sets have been created? The answer is 4,720 from 1953 until now (2008).

CyberNotes: A Look at Microsoft’s Zune

With all of the frenzy surrounding Apple's iPod, Microsoft's Zune seems to have been forgotten about even though it's a quality product. While a majority of people out there have at least heard of the iPod, there are probably still many who don't really know the Zune exists. And those that have heard of it may not be aware of some of the great features that it offers.

Universal Power Supplies Coming Soon?

Wouldn't it be nice if there was one universal power supply for every electronic device we owned? Devices these days like cellphones and laptops automatically come with a power adapter to convert AC power to device-specific DC power, and they're always different from one another. This causes a lot of waste when people decide to get rid of their devices and the adapters end-up in a land-fill.

Sony Ericsson Introduces 8.1 Megapixel Camera Phone

As a consumer, would you rather have a camera in a phone or a phone in a camera? What we mean by that is, these days it seems phone manufacturers throw a camera in as a second thought and it's there, but not really quality. What if camera manufacturers were to take their quality cameras and include a phone with them? That's what Sony Ericsson is trying to do with the C905 Cyber-shot.

IFoundYourCamera.net Unites Lost Cameras with their Owners

Ryan and I tend to take a lot of pictures with our camera, and so if we were ever to lose it, we'd be pretty bummed about the pictures still sitting on the memory card that were lost.

Apple Stocks Up, Competitors and Carriers Down

It was an interesting day for Apple stock yesterday. Durning Steve Jobs' keynote at WWDC we saw their stock go up and down as the time went on, and eventually once the keynote was over, it just stayed down for a while. It has been steadily climbing back-up, but now their competitors and other cell phone providers are seeing their stock drop as the news of the iPhone 3G settles in.
