Make it a Lemmings Weekend!

Here at CyberNet we love playing ourselves a good game of Lemmings. I'm sure most of you already know about the web-based version which includes many of the original levels. If you've finished all of those before then maybe it is time to move onto something bigger and better... Lemmins (download mirror)!

Microsoft Slashes Xbox 360 Gamerscore for Cheaters

I really believe that the Xbox 360 is such a strong gaming system because of the community that is built around the Xbox LIVE service. It gives you the opportunity to play games online with or against millions of other people. But understandably people have found ways to circumvent the system to collect an unreasonable number of achievements.

Multiplayer Games Coming to Microsoft Zune

One of the features on Microsoft's Zune that users have praised is the capability to wirelessly sync files and share music. Up until this point, that's really all that the wireless was used for but now news is starting to unfold that Microsoft will be utilizing the wireless for games.

Next Generation Gaming Consoles in 2010?

For some of you who were just able to get your hands on a Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, or Playstation 3, you're not even thinking about the next generation of consoles.  Analysts are though, and according to some, 2010 will be the shot-gun start for the next round. The last time around, Microsoft had quite an advantage by launching the Xbox 360 a whole year ahead of the PS3 and the Wii.

Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death Repair Kit

The modchip offered by Team Xecuter has graced my original Xbox for years. The main reason that I modded my Xbox in the first place was so that I could stream television shows and listen to my MP3's, which is something the original Xbox didn't do out-of-the-box.

Xbox 360 Shortage in U.S. until Spring

It just doesn't seem right to be writing an article about a shortage of a game console that isn't the Wii. We've been writing about those Wii shortages for a long time now, so when "shortage" was combined with "Xbox 360" it was surprising to say the least.

Best Buy Memo Indicates 80GB PS3 is Going Closeout

PS3 Fanboy received an interesting scan of an internal letter coming from Best Buy that explains that the 80GB  Playstation 3 is going closeout.  This means that there will be no new shipments, once their current stock of 80GB systems is gone, that's it. The memo states:

Flash-Based Tower-Bloxx = Fun!

Not that I need any excuse to waste time, but I always keep an eye out for the "Time Wasters" that Download Squad writes about. They're usually pretty fun, and one in particular I recently got hooked on.  It's called Tower Bloxx, and the flash-based game is about how well you can stack swinging building blocks. It sounds easy, but it can get tricky pretty fast.

As if We Didn’t Know the Wii Was Selling Well…

If you tried to hunt down a Wii this holiday season there is a good chance that you walked away empty handed and with a pounding migraine. The Wii is essentially a money printing machine for both retailers and Nintendo, but a nightmare for consumers who were trying to find one for their kids.

Peggle and Sonic the Hedgehog Come to iPod

About a month ago Ryan introduced me to Peggle, a game from PopCap Games.  He had been playing it and it looked like fun, so I decided I'd try it too.  Little did I know how addicting this game would turn out to be.

Wii Craziness Continues

There are still people who are doing everything they can (maybe even fighting?) to get their hands on the Wii before the holidays. If you're one of these people who just can't seem to get to the store at the exact right moment when they get stocked, there's still hope! I've got some good  and bad, but more good news for you.  We'll start with the good first...

Big Xbox 360 Update Coming (Yep, DivX)

On December 4th at 2:00AM PST Xbox 360 owners (with an Xbox LIVE subscription) will be able to get some awesome new features at no additional cost! At the top of the feature list is MPEG-4 Part 2 video support, which means that most of your DivX and Xvid files will now be play on the system! This was expected, however, because of the DivX/PS3 compatibility that was announced earlier this month.

Play DivX Videos on Your PS3 … Soon

Playstation 3 users are getting all riled up because DivX support has officially been announced for the system. This will be sent out via a separate system software update sometime in future, which means existing PS3 owners will get a piece of the action.

Best Buy Using Sleazy Tactic to Sell The Wii

If you walked into a Best Buy store to browse one day and you happened to see an employee carrying a Wii above their head and proclaiming "The Last Wii!", you might be intrigued to buy it, right? We all know that the Wii has been a rather hot commodity over the last year, and they continue to be short on supply with the current demand.

Widgets on the Wii with Opera

Nintendo and Opera just launched a new version of Internet Channel for the Wii. It is a free upgrade for all existing users, which is especially nice if you managed to get it for free before June 30. Unfortunately I didn't buy my Wii until after that deadline, and have yet to plop down 500 Wii points (equivalent to $5) for it.
