Bungie and Microsoft Breaking Up?

Bungie Studios is best known for creating the Halo series for Xbox which has turned into one of the best-selling games of all time. After all, Halo 3 managed to bring in $170 Million in the first 24 hours of sales! Halo hasn't been the only thing to come out of Bungie though.

AOL to Use WOW.com – Better Late Than Never

TechCrunch is reporting that AOL is finally going to put the domain wow.com (which they've owned since 1998) to good use. And no, they're not selling it to Microsoft to promote the "Wow" experience of Windows Vista.  Aside from Microsoft using "wow," there's another obvious thing that comes to mind ... World of Warcraft, the extremely popular online game usually known as WoW.

The first 24 hours of Halo 3's release was HUGE for Microsoft as Xbox 360 users forked out a total of $170 million for the game. Remember, that was only the first 24 hours! That $170 million was enough to make the launch of Halo 3 the biggest in entertainment history - bigger than any Hollywood movie.

Replace Your Scratched Halo 3 Disc for Free

The big launch of Halo 3 finally came and went, but unfortunately it didn't occur without problems. Microsoft has confirmed that a portion of the limited edition discs that were sold are scratched because of poor design of the nub in the tin casing. The nub wasn't able to successfully hold the disc in place, so during shipment, the discs got thrown all around which caused the scratches.

Halo 3 Ending Leaked

Not that this should be a surprise, but the ending of Halo 3 has been leaked to the Internet. With the game set to launch in just a week on September 25th, the video of the ending appears to be legitimate - although it hasn't been confirmed. If you have interest in ruining the game for yourself, I've included the link below.

Halo 3 Done – Coming September 25th

Halo 3 is done! The developers of the game, Bungie, announced yesterday that “Halo’s Gone Gold.” That means that the final version of Halo 3 is done, and now it’s being “whisked away to top-secret manufacturing locations to be turned into retail version of the game – and eventually packaged and sent to stores in various cases, tins and cat-helmets.  We can’t wait to share it with you guys on September 25th and 26th.”

Xbox 360 Price Drops $50 – Confirmed!

Last week the rumors were flying that Xbox 360 might be receiving a price cut on August 8th, just in time for the upcoming Halo 3 release. That rumor is in fact true with Microsoft officially announcing yesterday that the price drop will start tomorrow (Wednesday, August 8th), and coincides with the release of Madden NFL 08’.

You'd think that Nintendo would have caught up to the Wii demand by the time the holiday season rolls around in December, but their senior vice president of marketing, George Harrison says that there's no guarantee.  In fact, he says that the consoles will be scarce this holiday season.
