Hey Bloomberg, Steve Jobs Isn’t Dead!

If someone were to ask me who I'd rather meet in person if given the choice between Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, I'd pick Bill Gates. He's an excellent public speaker, and he always seems to be a humble, gracious man. Steve Jobs on the other hand, it's not that I don't like him, it's just that there's an arrogance to him that can get on my nerves.

What NOT to do when the RIAA Comes to your Door

Let's just pretend for a minute that the RIAA has come knocking on your door accusing you of using a P2P service to illegally share music, and violating copyrights. Your first instinct is what? If you're Jeffrey Howell, you:

Personal Data Sold on eBay for $64 Dollars

How would you feel if your personal data was sold, (along with thousands of others) on eBay, for around 64 dollars? When we say personal data, we are talking about names, addresses, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, phone numbers, mothers' maiden names, scans of signatures, and more.

Intel Working on Wireless Power System

Think Geek has been known to come up with some great April Fools products to sell on their site. Back in 2006 on April Fools Day they came up with "Wireless Extension Cords" (wireless power) to sell and under the "Availability" section of the page, they put "no suing." It was clearly a joke to some, but to others like Computer Power User Magazine, they thought it was real.

CyberNotes: Create Free iPhone Ringtones Using iTunes in Windows

One of the things that Apple hasn't made easy for iPhone owners is providing a way to create custom ringtones in Windows. If you're a Mac owner you can use GarageBand, but Apple doesn't provide that application on Windows.

Netflix Shipping System is Having Issues

Over the last couple of days we have been monitoring a situation with Netflix regarding the problems they have been having with their shipment system. When we first heard about it, we didn't think it was that big of a deal, but now that it's been a couple of days and Netflix is still having issues, we figured it was worth mentioning.

Taxation of Digital Downloads

One of the benefits of purchasing music online versus a physical CD from the store is that you don't get taxed, at least here in the United States, in states. With digital downloads becoming popular, states are trying to push a new "iTax" that would change things. Digital downloads have become a massive industry and states realize this.

White Knight Two Will Take You to Space

If you have $200,000 in spare change lying around, you may want to consider saving it to use towards your trip to space. How will you get there you ask? The White Knight Two. It's the "mothership" made by Virgin Galactic and Scaled Composites and will be the launch vehicle that will fly SpaceShipTwo up to the Earth's atmosphere.

Improv Everywhere does a Human Mirror

The Improv Everywhere group comes up with some really unique things to do. You might recall that earlier in the year they "froze" themselves in Grand Central Station located in New York. I'm still now sure how they managed to attract all of the participants, but in the end it definitely turned some heads.

CyberNotes Celebrates 2 Years and 700+ articles

Over two years ago Ashley and I started to think about what we could do on CyberNet News that would help distinguish us from the millions of other blogs that are out there. That's when we came up with the idea to start a CyberNotes series which we would write each and every day of the week. They have since evolved into an extensive set of reviews for products, applications, and websites.

Computer Use Causing Your Aches & Pains?

All who suffer from back aches, shoulder pain, and/or wrist and hand pain, raise your hand. There's gotta be a lot of you that do, at some point, even if it's not on a regular basis due to working conditions. Perhaps you've never associated those pains to work, but they're likely related if you spend much of your day working on a computer or mobile device.

Microsoft Serious About Improving Their Brand

Back in March, Ryan wrote an article questioning whether Microsoft has been losing brand credibility. These days, branding is crucial. Just three years ago, Microsoft was seated an number 11 on the list of top 100 brands, only to move to the 59th seat out of 100 more recently.

How Often Should You Change Your Oil?

This isn't technology news per se, but it's definitely worth writing about. The question of the day is, how often should you change your oil? If you're like us, you've always been lead to believe that it was a must to change the oil every three months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first.

And We’re Back…

Some of you may remember about a year ago at this time (April 23rd to be exact), we experienced our very first hard drive crash on our server. At the time we had hoped it would be the last time we needed to put our trusty back-ups to good use, but unfortunately, as luck would have it, it wasn't. Early this morning we experienced hard drive failure and so our host had to set us up with a new server.
