New Poll: Do You Take Advantage of Paperless Services?

More and more these days, there's a push to "go green" and part of that effort is reducing the amount of paper that we consume. Many companies over the last several years have been trying to go paperless wherever possible. One such example is cell phone companies who offer their subscribers the option to sign-up for paperless billing.

New Poll: 64-bit vs. 32-bit

Earlier this month we asked CyberNet readers, "How old is your primary computer?" Over 950 of you responded and as it turns out, 30% of you, larger than any other group, are using a computer that's less than one year old. Coming in next was 21% of you who said that you are using a computer that's 1-2 years old.

It's time for a new poll today! The results from the last poll regarding how long you've been reading CyberNet News is pictured to the right. New Poll: How Long Have You Been Reading CyberNet

We always find it interesting when someone mentions in a comment how long they've been reading CyberNet. Our curiosity led us to start a new poll asking that very question. Before we get into that, we thought now would be a good time to share some of our stats after 2 years and 3 months (CyberNet launched in December, 2005):

Would You Pay More for a Contract-Free Phone?

Back when the iPhone first launched, there were many people who wanted to get one but had to decide whether it was worth it or not to be locked into a required 2-year contract with AT&T. As it turns out, a good chunk of people must have felt it was in fact worth it, given how well the iPhone has done so far.

Poll: Where Do You Backup Important Files?

It's time to wrap up our last poll which received nearly 800 votes. It turns out that 48% of you like to use a mouse pad, 42% don't use one, and 10% sometimes use one. I haven't used a mouse pad in a long time, and I thought that they were starting to be phased out. It used to be that every time you purchased a new computer it would come with a mouse pad, but I haven't seen that for awhile.

New Poll: Do You Use a Mouse Pad?

Ever since laser mice became popular, the need to use a mouse pad went out the door. Or did it? Back in August, CyberNet Forum Member xpgeek asked whether people used a mouse pad, and if so, what kind.

Poll: How Many Remotes Do You Have?

Time to count up all of your remotes! Today we're asking how many remote controls you have in single room. For example, in our living room we have five remotes sitting on the table. It would make more sense to use one universal remote, wouldn't it? Yet I haven't come across one that I like enough to use.

New Poll: How Do You Record Your TV Shows?

Almost gone are the days of scheduling your VCR to record your favorite shows on video tape, and in are the days of using DVR's or DVD Recorders, the more convenient, efficient way to record shows. As other methods become more and more popular, we were wondering how many people still use VCRs to record shows, and how many have moved on to other methods for recording TV.

A recent article posted at News.com talks about the deep interest that scores of investors have in social-networking web sites. There’s no doubt why there is such interest – many of these sites have proven to be extremely successful and experience continuous growth and support from venture firms.

Poll: Are You Addicted to Mobile Email?

I can honestly answer with a big NO, I’m not addicted to mobile email. I’d need a mobile email device first before I’d be able to have an addiction! I just use a simple Motorola phone for making and receiving calls, and checking voicemail. That’s all.

New Poll: At What Age were you Tech Savvy?

There’s no doubt that times are changing.  Technology is becoming a way of life, and because of it, children are exposed to it at a much younger age. And because children are getting exposed to it so young, they’re entering into the Tech Savvy Club much sooner than most of us have.

We’re about mid-way through the week, and so far our poll has produced some interesting results.  We asked, “what do you use for voice communication?” This question came after an article published by the Associated Press talked about the recent trend of moving away from landline phones and using cell phones instead.
