The month of September was all about Halo! It launched mid-September and turned into quite the money maker for Microsoft, bringing in $170 million in the first 24 hours.During the week prior to the launch of the popular Xbox 360 game, the ending of the game was leaked which caused quite the stir.

July was the month of changes for CyberNet! After spending two months designing and implementing a new design for the site from scratch, we launched it. We also worked on optimizing the site, and added a handful of new features like Avatar support, advanced thumbnail navigation, and more.

CyberNet’s Year in Review: May-June

May of 2007 was about Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Facebook. Apple's Steve Jobs and Microsoft's Bill Gates made a rare appearance stage as part of the D Conference. Their chat with Walt Mosberg and Kara Swisher was interesting to say the least, and the conversation included the mentioning of those Mac vs. PC commercials where Jobs said that the point of them was for Mac and PC's to like each other.

Personalized homepages were spotlighted in March with Yahoo completing a huge redesign for My Yahoo! and Google launching a variety of dramatically changing themes for  their Personalized Homepages. Additionally, it was a rough month for YouTube after Viacom sued them for $1 Billion dollars.

August was a huge month for Firefox since they hit the 200 million download mark. KDE (a Linux desktop) released a new Start Menu that is unlike any other that you have used before and continues to push Linux further and further.

This is the month that CyberNet switched over to a dedicated server to make sure we can handle our future traffic needs. It also seemed to be the month of cool things: a self-parking BMW, 4D globe,  Xbox 360 case mods, and more.

CyberNet’s Year In Review: June 2006

The Pirate Bay was the talk of the month since they had their servers seized and then quickly returned to them after authorities found no illegal content. To help crack down on piracy Microsoft also updated their Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) process to check for counterfeit versions of Windows XP...which unexpectedly identified legitimate versions of Windows as counterfeit.
