Apparently it was basically that people in America were playing rugby, under the name rugby football. As they changed the rules they dropped the name rugby, leaving just football. Hence why the game is still known as "football" despite it being nothing to do with feet or proper football.

The game that you Americans for some reason call football is nothing to do with football and is basically a wussy version of rugby where everyone wears body armour and drinks orange juice every 5 minutes.

Football is more of a strategy game than contact, but that aside, you can’t really say that (American) football is a wussy version of rugby. Rugby players may not wear padding, but they aren’t put under the same conditions. They play for about 80 minutes in a game where they stop much less. They have to pace themselves and not go all-out because they don’t stop as much as in football. Football players are trained to go all-out every play for about three hours, and without the padding and helmets there would be a lot of serious injuries.

I agree with that. Despite all of the padding there are still a good amount of injuries that the football players endure.

"Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?"

maybe because you might have a blind passenger who doesn't want to give out their pin number

Why do you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
Exactly where DO those socks lost in the dryer end up?
Why do people say thank you to a cop who just gave them a ticket?
