In Singapore, we get 14 days of paid vacation from the day you start and usually 14 days paid sick leave. These usually increase after working for a year.

In Panama—it’s included in the Panama Labor Code—all employees have the right to receive 30 days paid vacations after working eleven months. Employees also receive 18 days of paid sick leave during one year. You have to turn in a health certificate issued by a recognized doctor, stating that you’re sick in order to get paid. All of these perks are effective the day you sign your work contract.

That’s actually pretty cool. It’s nice that you don’t have to worry about you’re job not giving you vacation time.

You also get a 30-day-bonus, paid during the year as follows: one third in April, one third in August and one third in December. It’s called the XIIIth month.

Not bad, isn’t it? In a way, we’re better than Microsoft; only the salaries aren’t that good.
