I need to check out WinAmp Lite. The available version is too sluggish for me. Another good alternative is the Quintessential Player. Lightweight and sounds great.

That's a good point...can't believe I forgot to mention that.

On a more positive note: their default skin has improved drastically over the years.</blockquote></div>
I think they've eliminated the right mix of features to consider it a light version, but I do agree that they should offer something even smaller.

That's a good point. A problem, in addition to security, could be compatibility.

I think we are missing on skype lite version which is only 13MB as compared to full version which is 22MB. That is some saving! You can download it from softpedia. I will be trying it out.

Old versions of Nero Lite and Micro (branch 7.x.x.x) are already activated after you installed it.
QT and Real Alternative do not just allow you to watch .qt, .mov, .rm and others in a browser, but they add their codecs into system so you can watch videos in such formats in your media player (like WMP or MPC) without needing native apps. Older versions of QT Alternative even have QuickTime Pro ability which allows you to save online content. That's why i prefer it and K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.
