That's the problem with AJAX - it's a standard but there's so much that can be done with it that browser standards have trouble coping, due to using different rendering engines. Someone needs to sort it out anyway - otherwise browser decisions could become based on what pages you like to use.

picasaweb.google.com

Shows a "not supported" message at the top of page, but otherwise works well.

<blockquote>Gmail - works very well thanks to the Opera team. They are constantly patching problems that Google creates when changing things in Gmail. However, the Gmail Chat will only work if you mask the browser as Mozilla and after doing so you should be able to chat with people just like in Firefox or Internet Explorer.</blockquote>
There should actually be patches in browser.js that enable chat without masking. Indeed, masking actually breaks the browser.js patches if I recall correctly.

I have switched my calendar to Scrybe which is currently being tested, but it doesn't work with Opera either (at least under Windows). It is just a Flash-based calendar so I wouldn't think it would be too hard for them to make it compatible but we'll have to see.

Being an Opera user since version 4 I can say acceptance and compatibility came a long way and is not so bad. I don't like masking my Opera because then they won't know Opera users are attempting to use the feature (I know they could still identify the browser).
