Keyboard shortcuts are a real time saver but they definitely take some getting used to. It is almost out of instinct that I reach for the mouse to perform a lot of my tasks but they can often be done much quicker if you learn how to use the keyboard as your primary input device.
I always bookmark a site that I come across that has some useful keyboard shortcuts for applications. I know that eventually I will want to come back and learn them but not maybe I don’t have the time right now. Well, it is time that I share my list with you in hopes that they will save you as much time as some of them have saved me.

So that is the list of keyboard shortcuts that I have come up with so far. It may not be the most extensive list but they sure save me some time.
If you have a good site for some shortcuts please let us know. We’ll go ahead and add it to the list above to help make it a little more comprehensive.

It’s amazing how useful shortcuts can be – we all use Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V by instinct, but it does take some getting used to others. Of course something like a media keyboard is a great help, as there are built in keys to do things that aren’t App specific.
speaking of bookmarks worth sharing, how about having a list of all the usefull bookmarks you publish in the site, stored in some bookmark services? not bookmarks 2 the articles, but of pages, like those shortcuts lists.
i personally use Rawsugar (which support a blog sync), but in any case think it would be a great addition, to an already wonderful site
Thanks for the shortcuts, they are really helpful.
I do like the image you used for the post of the OLED based keyboard. That is one neat keyboard that I think will take off in the future when they release it.
I’m not sure what kind of bookmarks you would like to see. My own personal bookmarks list is very small (maybe 30) and almost all of them are not technology related.
If you have some recommendations at what you would like to see I would sure love to hear them.
I am guessing he means that in each post you link to a few sites (usually sources but sometimes products) and he would like a search able list of those sites without having to read through blog posts to find the links. I’m not sure Wordpress has a feature like this (my CMS, 1-Log, does
) but there are probably extensions for this somewhere.
i mean links to products (software/hardware), guides, internet services and so on.
as for linking to news items, i don’t think its nessecery.
if u happen to notice that links you have provided throughout your posting, do mount to some usefull catergories (like the ones for shotcuts), then i think having them accessible through one entry point whould be helpful. but if it’s to much of a hassle, then i guess will manage to save those links ourselves.
I could setup a Del.icio.us account so that everyone would have public access to the links. That way I could easily tag items as well. Is that more of what you’re looking for?
yep
i think many people would find this helpful.
but i guess u know the readers better then me.
Another good reason to learn keyboard shortcuts is in situations where the mouse won’t or stopped working. :p
Actually we have gotten nearly 1,000 visitors from StumbleUpon alone to this article so it has apparently struck some interest.
I believe the Optimus is finally available, albeit with a rediculous price tag.
I think it is only that 3-button keyboard that is available and the full keyboard hasn’t been released. I could be wrong though.
Someone should build a website dedicated to shortcuts of the most used programs! It will attract visitors for sure.
I am a fan of keyboard shortcuts and I touch the mouse at minimum. So thanks for the article!
That is a clever idea for a Website.
[camtech2000.net] description: “Keyboard shortcuts can sometimes be faster and more convenient than a mouse. Keyboarding is an informational tool that lists 2,900 keyboard shortcuts for Windows 95/98/Me/2K, Access 97 & 2000, Excel 97 & 2000, Outlook 97 & 2000, Word 97 & 2000 and Internet Explorer 4 & 5. Also lists 60 DOS commands and their switches.”
It’s built already!
