These are cars that you probably won’t see parked in your next door neighbors driveway, that is unless you live in Beverly Hills.  They aren’t your typical Lexus or BMW’s, these are million dollar cars that only the worlds’ richest can afford. Forbes put together the complete list of the World’s Most Expensive Cars for 2006, and here are some of them:

Bugatti Veyron

Price: $1,192,057

This is one slick, expensive, and powerful car.  It has a top speed of around 253.2 mph, and with that has been named the fastest “street-legal” production car in the world! It is built by Volkswagen AG, and in 2006, they made 300 of them. It was named after the race car driver Pierre Veyron. It has a 16-cylinder, 1001-hp motor!

Body: 2 -door coupe

Engine: 8.0L quad-turbo W16

Transmission: 7-speed dual clutch sequential manual

SSC Ultimate Aero

Price $654,500

The SSC Ultimate Aero was originally built in the United States. On the track, it can reach 260-273 mph. It has been labeled the Ultimate supercar, and will compete for the world record top-speed car in Germany in May of 2007. There are two different models, the Aero, and the Ultimate Aero TT with the Ultimate version more powerful.

Horsepower: 1,180

Weight: 422 lbs.

0 to 60 mph: 2.78 seconds

Leblanc Mirabeau

Price $645,084

The Leblanc Mirabeau is a product of Wysstec GmbH and Leblanc cars out of Switzerland.  It’s not quite street legal in the U.S. (yet), but there are plans to have it street legal by early 2007.  It has a v8 supercharged engine, and a 6-speed sequential transmission. This is one car that probably will be better off on the race track than the road to show its’ true potential!

Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

Price $555,000

The original S7 went on sale in 2002 and was the only street-legal car in the US with over 500 horsepower.  Since 2002, it has become even more powerful and became the S7 Twin Turbo.  It now boasts 750 horsepower and looks as good as it sounds. It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, and has a V8 twin turbo engine. The new design features a more aerodynamic rear which reduces drag time. At $555,000 it is one of the more “affordable” supercar’s out there.

There is no doubt why Forbes included these cars in their list of the World’s Most Expensive Cars.  For more pictures, details, and the complete list of the cars that made the list this year, click here!
