It’s unfortunate we don’t have these services in Panama. Right now I’m looking for an honest mechanic to fix my car. I’ve taken it to three different mechanics and the problem is still there. Sigh!

Another suggestion for you is to search the Internet for your problem — that’s actually how Ryan and I figured out what was wrong with our vehicle. About a month ago we were driving and the ABS light came on, the speedometer quit working if you were going under 40 mph, the over-drive light came on, and the transmission wouldn’t shift out of 2nd gear. Our initial thought was that we needed a new transmission, but because of everything else that happened at once we figured it couldn’t be! Long story short, I went to Google and typed in the year and model of the vehicle, and all of the problems. Eventually I found it was an ABS sensor that needed replaced and many people have the same problem. There were even instructions on where the part was and how to change it. $30 bucks later (that’s how much the part cost) — our car was fixed because we were able to install it ourselves! We’ve told this story to a few people now and they were amazed we were able to diagnose the problem and learn how to fix it- all from the Internet.
