How kind of you to label everyone using these superb tools as "certified nuts".
Troubleware? Problems? Core basic? Of course you do not know, but Microsoft also sells very good developer tools, like "Visual Studio", and supports communities of developers, like "MSDN". These tools and communities are one way for people to create alternatives, *superior* alternatives in many cases, to the software you think as bullet proof.
These tools are not troubleware. There tools don't rise problems. These tools are far from operating at the "core" level.
Don't spread panic and dumbness. Go learn something.

Like many other I stay for now with TeraCopy, for its simplicity and accuracy. I don't need to switch for another utility, though I think as you describe it Copyhandler is somewhat similar.

I tried both these programs today. Both worked really well but I settled for terracopy because of it's simplicity. This software will now be used to copy 15 million voters details, images and fingers to a central location. I believe this is the biggest data move attempted with software like this. The total amount of files is in excess of 100,000,000 and the total amount of consumed disk space is about 20 terrabytes!!! Thanx for brilliant software like this!!!

"Under some circumstances..." says it all. In my view you would have to be crazy to go replacing core basic operating system utility features like file copying with third party stuff. MS may not be pristine but they have a few hundred million people depending on them and they even have a small staff they use for checkout at times. Use of this sort of troubleware leads to potential problems of all sorts that you may never even know about until it is far too late. You'd be a certified nut case to use any of them.

Under some circumstances when I make copy-handler copy/move a file to a location where that file already exists, it doesn't popup a confirmation box if it finds that the destination file is of the same size. This makes sense except it only checks for file size and not contents so I'm even when I'm asking it to overwrite a different file, it does nothing. I've faced this issue with Teracopy too. It's quirks like these that compel me to stick to Windows' clumsy but somewhat more trusty interface coz file transfers is not something I want to take chances with. Other than this, copy-handler is indeed very impressive.

I prefer CopyHandler’s user interface and feature set but sadly it has some minor problems with integration in Vista. The copy/paste options don’t work the way they do in XP. Still you can enter the copy parameters directly.

Although not as feature rich, I think TeraCopy is a bit faster - I’ve seen record transfer rates using it.</blockquote></div>
I prefer the feature set that CopyHandler has as well, but TeraCopy is really nice when it comes to simplicity. I actually hadn't noticed the bug on Vista until you pointed it out though.
