I don't use the program anymore, but not because I had problems with it. The few weeks that I did use it I found that it was rather stable and worked as I expected it to. Sorry to hear that you had so many problems with it.

I thought this app was just what I was looking for... a popover window that I could customize to launch apps, hold web snippets, a 'note board' for reminders/alarms/todo lists.

But I've found the program lacking in intuitiveness and completeness. It feels as if it's 90% done but no one ever tested it in the real world.

The containers are a great idea but they don't work well --- directory containers produce corrupted lists unless the container is open large enough to display the entire directory (where are the elevator bars?).

Every thing is a container (good) except for the reminders (bad). The reminders are small labels that list a date/time but not the item you need to be reminded of(?!?). You have to mouse-over or dbl-click for that info, which may be fine for a few reminders but not when you have 10, 20 or more. And the mouse-over popup is blk txt on blue background (difficult to read) and not customizable. Instead... Alarms/reminders should be an option for every container.

There are lots of problems like this, bad implementation of a good idea, which is just the description I would give to this app. That's too bad.. this would be really cool if it worked well.

I like this! Nice elegant design that gets away from dull, dull, dull Wingreyness and/or kitsch icon razzle-dazzle. Let's hope the developer feels inspired to refine it. I see good potential here.

That's interesting. Must be a bug because I haven't had that happen. You should submit that to the developers.

Memory usage is pretty reasonable...typically around 10MB or 15MB. I would say that's good.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who have never heard of the program though.

I agree with that. I'm sure they'll address this in a future release because it does seem like a persistent problem.

I've been using SideSlide as an enhanced menu for a few months. It works great except:

1) It checks each link when it loads. If you start SideSlide when the system boots, this adds disk thrashing.

2) Sometimes clicking on the links don't work. There will be a little red X icon as if you tried to edit an entry when it is locked.

It would be great if they'd come up with a faster and more efficient way of setting the icons and verifying links and if they'd track down the erroneous prohibited red X which shows up at times.
