I have a lot search engines in Firefox, many of them added with the Add to Searchbar extension. I use Organize Search Engines to categorize them to different folders and Context Search to access all of them in the context menu. Organize Search Engines also has the option to set keywords to search engines without having to bookmark them.

I also use Searchbar Autosizer although I don't really need the autosizing feature anymore but I like that it clears the searchbox after a search.

One of "must have" firefox extensions is "Search Keys". It adds a number after every search result and you can open this result simply by pressing that number. If you want to open it in new tab, press Alt+number and you have it. You can go to next/previous result page by pressing "."/",".

Heidern wrote:
Can you tell me the name of the skin used in the ‘SearchWP’ photo?
It looks nice. ^^

It's actually not a skin. It is Firefox 3 Beta running on Vista. That's what the new version will look like.

Lashiec wrote:
Some interesting extensions here, Drag and DropZone seems like a nifty idea.

That was the one I thought was very interesting as well. It would take awhile to get used to, but could really speed things up in the end.

Change wrote:
Hmm.. what’s the difference between HighlightAll and using the find toolbar to select “Highlight all”? (especially when not using the auto-highlight function)

The one reason I really like that extension is that there's an option to have it highlight all instances of a word immediately when you highlight it on the page. So instead of having to perform a search you could actually just highlight one instance of it on the page, and it will highlight the remaining matches.

I love Searchbar Autosizer! Been running it for ages as well. Will definitely check out the other extensions, they sound very useful (I search a lot). I'm worried that Drag and Dropzone will conflict with DragdeGo though, so I guess I'll have to skip that one :|

Can you tell me the name of the skin used in the ‘SearchWP’ photo?
It looks nice. ^^

Actually, that's the default theme of Firefox 3 running on Windows Vista :)

Thank you for this useful post!
I will have a look at 'SearchWP' for sure.
Im using 'Searchbar Autosizer' for quite a while. It's great to save some space in the adress bar, but still allows to see the search term you type in full length.
I personally also like 'Add to Search Bar'. This one lets you add any searchfield from websites to your search engines.

Can you tell me the name of the skin used in the 'SearchWP' photo?
It looks nice. ^^
