This feature has been in Firefox before Firefox 2 but it was only available via the right-click menu. It is true that I could just disable the extensions, but I might as well just uninstall them if I never plan on using them.

Firefox 2 now includes a nice disable feature for extensions, so you may free up memory and won't have to uninstall/reinstall whenever you have need of a little used extension.

I wish the "Restart Firefox" was a built-in option. It is actually considered a bug that the option wasn't included in Firefox 2 and I think it will be in Firefox 3. But no, I know that Firefox can already save your windows and tabs it is just the easy-access menu option that I want.

Ryan....I am confused by your comment on Restarter:

It adds a “Restart Firefox” option to the File menu so that you can restart Firefox without losing your open tabs and windows.

...but this should be a built-in feature for Firefox

Did you mean to say you wish the restart Firefox option was built in or restarting w/o losing your open tabs and windows? :?

[...] Cutting Down the Browsing Clutter Sure you have heard of trimming the tree around Christmas time, but what about trimming your browser? The folks over at CyberNet have done it again, producing one heck of a nice guide to cutting the slack from your Firefox experience. Firefox is a truly amazing browser and I think my favorite part about it is that the extensions make it remarkably useful. They add features that I wouldn’t expect a Web browser to do, such as serve as an FTP client. While I think extensions are great, I also find myself installing some that I just don’t need. It is almost like an addiction, and with a new year right around the corner I thought it was a good time to trim some of the “fat” (a.k.a. extensions) off of my Firefox profile by re-evaluating my need for the extensions. They cover just about everything. From cleaning up your toolbar to clearing the mess from your profile, you have no excuse not to do a little house cleaning before the new year rolls around.
1) Regarding Undo Closed Tabs: Cntrl/Sh/T is my Windows shortcut to open MailWasher Pro. And when I removed that shortcut, Cntrl/Sh/T opens the Themes window in Fx 1.0.5.9 -- it doesn't undo closed tabs. Perhaps this is a later version specific? (And Alt/Z brings up Roboform's window to fill forms, so that extension would also conflict.) Hopefully there is another method to restore closed tabs?

2) TabMixPlus offers the benefit of closing a tab with a double click using a 3-button mouse with the center button set on double click.

3) Am surprised you don't enjoy extensions such as Dictionary Search which provides 3 dictionaries on the context menu, or have you memorized every word in the dictionary? Or Locate in Bookmark Folders which with a right click provides the location of the bookmark? Or Prefbar which offers instant access to several of your daily used sites? Or Toobar Grippies which allows you to reduce any or all toolbars to a slim row (all closed ones on one row) instead of Personal Menu? (FYI, evidently an upgrade is not yet available for 2.0 so when installing in 2.0 use Mr.Tech Local Install to prevent it from checking for current update.) And lastly, Enhanced Bookmark Search which takes up a bit of real estate at the bottom of the bookmark window. There you can easily see all relative to the BM, and change it's name or location (such as adding "?password")

If you only had FEBE installed you probably could have saved some time. FEBE will rebuild your installed extensions and themes in installable .xpi and .jar formats. The backup results report even displays links to all your extension's homepages. You can learn more about it here.

Cooliris is one of those extensions that it is really cool to have but it can get annoying after awhile. IE Tab always started as a cool idea but as Firefox continues to become more popular I have less and less compatibility problems, and therefore no need for the extension. Not only that but I use Vista so IE isn't even needed to do Windows Updates since it is built-into the Control Panel.
