Yes, my phone alarm is a bit short too. So if I really need to get up on time I put my clock alarm on. Problem with that is that it wakes the rest of the family.

And regarding the double quoting, the easiest thing is for people to do a bit of work and just delete quotes from within quotes - even if the CSS could render it properly it adds unnecessary duplication to the database.

Yes, I haven't figured out a solution to the double-quoting thing yet. It obviously doesn't work. :(

I have used my phone to wake me up in the past as well but the place where I charge it is too far away for me to hear it. Not only that but the phone will stop the alarm after about 20 seconds. That's definitely not enough time to make me want to get out of bed.

Double quoting hurts the CSS and clogs the database, people :P

I know what you're saying about alarms. I've had my phone wake me up for the past few years, and whilst it does gently fade in the noise has become associated with the getting up struggle so much that it pains me to hear it at any other time.

I won't be downloading it because my PC is next to my bed and thus is turned off at night, but it sounds like a nice little program - and I hate bloatware too.

Anyway I don't leave my computer running through the night. So it isn't any good to me.

My PC is located in the room right next to our bedroom so it is easy to hear. It is loud enough for me to hear it and annoying enough that it makes me want to get up to turn it off. I don't have it play music, instead I downloaded a small slip of a buzzer sounding and set my media player to repeat songs. That way it will keep going until I turn it off.

That was a good idea to download a buzzer sound. Something annoying that "makes" you get up to turn it off. Seeing as the act of actually getting out of bed is the inertia that I am sure most of us have to overcome in the morning.

Chad-) wrote:
You can set up a scheduled task to launch your media player at your 'wake up' time. You could even specify which song/playlist you'd like it to play using command-line arguments.

That is quite clever because I never thought about scheduling a task to launch the media player. It is kinda nice to have a quick interface that can easily be accessed though.

So do you live in a studio apartment where your PC is in earshot?

My computer is too far away from my bed to be heard. That is unless I cranked the volume up on the Klipsch speakers I have attached to it. But that would defeat the "soft" wakeup feature of this app.
