The MediaCoder release is a Development release. The page includes a link to the more stable Candidate release. I think this would qualify as a beta.

Good point, I moved it down.
I didn’t include it in the daily downloads because it’s not something that you can really just download and use. It’s not really a standalone product, and generally I include Linux operating systems that offer Live CD’s.
Don’t worry though, we just posted an article on KDE 4 outlining some of the new features.
