Dell Keyboard Failure

Don’t you hate when your computer has problems? I think everyone does, but normally they can be solved by restarting the program or maybe you need to reboot the computer.

Sometimes things may not be that simple. When this computer couldn’t find the keyboard there was no way that the user was going to be able to boot-up the operating system. I have seen plenty of error messages similar to this one, and I can’t help but laugh each time.

News Source: This Is Broken

  1. when was the last time Dell had any good press? Are they gonna flop like Gateway did?

  2. Would you consider the Alienware acquisition good news?

  3. if I were a gamer, but I am not.

  4. In my experience that keyboard error is only displayed with a USB keyboard connected. The Bios does not read the devices that are plugged into the USB ports. I’ve had the same message on three of my boxes in the past while trying to repair/restore/slap sense into a XP crash. Always works just fine as soon as I plug an old PS/2 corded keyboard and mouse into the machine.

Of course I am not that bright and I just got off of a nice 16 hour day so I may be just a lucky idiot that had that work for him.

Not for Alienware – I can envisage Dell dragging them down to their level

  6. Actually I think I read somewhere that Dell is pretty much going to leave them alone. Probably not a bad idea.

  7. yep that one is a good one for sure:
    here are some more [blogs.msdn.com]
The network drivers are on the network share

Email credentials have been emailed to you

The recent Vista build where windows explorer crashed whenever you opened my documents. So to blow it away and rebuild, I need to backup my files.. Tricky with no file management..

Another Vista beta bug favourite – the extended desktop display settings dialogue is on the extended monitor which is no longer attached to the machine.

BT broadband classic – emailed the service request about the fact your adsl is down..which you can’t access because your adsl is down.

Need to configure the wireless router but the wireless is down and you are downstairs using the wireless mediacentre machine in the kitchen..

    ah life in technology..sigh
