You don't actually own any blu-ray discs, and are damned if you'll buy your considerably large DVD collection again when you can't afford a big enough TV to see that it makes much difference for most films. Congratulations, you've just wasted your money! The 360 went the right way - if you want HDDVD you can get one cheaper than a standalone player and it plugs right into your Xbox. If you don't want it, you don't pay for it. I don't mind things offering hi-res, as it means they can easily go through a monitor, something hard to do with a previous-gen console (or the Wii) due to Lik Sang having to close down.
