AIM still looks bulky and unattractive - after applying the A-Patch even WLM can look quite sleek, even if GTalk still beats it. Anyway, other than foolish family computer users very few people here use AIM unless they've stupidly chosen AOL as their ISP - and even that is on the decline nowadays.

I'll never download it though, not for a minute. AOL won't taint my computer ever again! (That means no WinAmp.)

On the very very rare occasion that I have to connect to another messenger besides Google Talk I'll just use Meebo. That's why I love that service so much...it lets me use chat clients that I hate installing. :)

That is not true. am using Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Beta on Windows Vista RC2, as we speak

I haven't installed it myself but there have been several complaints with WLM constantly crashing under Vista RC2. It was supposedly solved with Vista RTM but I'm not able to try that.

I installed 6.0 this afternoon and almost immediately started having problems - my wireless network crapped out, then I got the dreaded Blue Screen of Death for the first time on this machine (XP SP2).

Anyone else have problems? I rolled back to 5.9 right away, but Windows is still acting up.
