Microsoft has just released Internet Explorer 7 Release Candidate 1 (RC1). The build number is 7.0.5700.6 but I haven’t had a chance to run it yet to see what might be new.
You may find the release notes page to be useful because it specifies which toolbars are not compatible with IE7. You’ll also find a bunch of other information on there that will probably serve no purpose for you.
This will probably be the last release before the launch which means you need to report any bugs that you find. Enjoy!

Paul Thurrott has a nice review on IE7 RC1 and says “IE 7 is turning into a stable, reliable and even desirable Web browser.”

Thanks for the tip Oliver!

When all is said & done what advantage is there for Firefox users to use I.E.7?
Ummmm…hmmmm…maybe you like the blue “e” with the gold ring?
Does this thing require you to pass a WGA check before installing?
I’m loving Firefox 2, but I’m going to try out IE7, Opera 9 and Flock for an article on my site.
You will definitely have to pass the WGA check before installing it. Microsoft seems to love that feature.
Me no need no blue “e”, I tried it. Big deal. But I do love Firefox (Bon Echo) 2. When I bring up Firefox 1.5 anymore I feel like I’ve stepped back in time.
Do you know of any ways to bypass it this time?
You might be able to find some information on *cough* 9down.com *cough*. They always seem to be on top of those things.
IE 7 Sux…
