Yeah I’m in a constant struggle to determine release dates for software… doesn’t seem like it matters that much, hell Mozilla hasn’t even released 1.5.0.7 as far as I know, so you just never know, but makes it exciting I guess!

Last I heard it was supposed to be out on the 14th.

Thanks, I’ve been using the first beta for a couple of months and I really like it but there were definatley some things that needed to be fixed. I guess I’ll see if they have been or not, the download has just finished.

I have 644 DVD titles ([intervocative.com]) and they are much better to watch on the 50″ HDTV than on the old 27″ RCA tv I used to use.

I do agree with everyone that some of the functionality seems to have been stripped away from WMP10 but they aren’t done with it yet. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I pretty much only, and have only ever used WMP for windows media files. I use MusicMatch Jukebox for MP3’s and perfer to watch movie trailers in QuickTime. I never watch DVD movies on my computer. That is reserved for my Sony 50″ HDTV and surround sound through my stereo and Klipsch speaker system.

I think WMP is loosing functionality a long time ago. In WMP9 you could pause/start a movie by pressing space, but that is gone in WMP10. Since then I’m not using it anymore. I’m going to install the full version of WMP11 when it’s released, but as long as space doesn’t work like in any decent media player (like BS Player) I won’t use it.

WMP 11 has even fewer options than WMP 10. I’m not impressed in the least. How can I change the double-click functionality so that instead of playing a song immediately, it queues it up at the end of the playlist? I could do that in WMP 10, but I can’t do that in WMP 11. I only downloaded WMP 11 in hope that it’d be better than MusicMatch, but it’s failed to prove to me otherwise. Microsoft needs to stop focusing on GUI updates and focus on functionality updates. If a product is pretty but doesn’t work, it’s crap. GUI is only to complement pretty workings under the hood.
