Firefox StatusBar

I am a very organized person and I like to have things the way that I want them. That’s why I just started using the Firefox extension called Organize Status Bar. It will let you customize the order of anything that appears in your Status Bar…or you can even hide certain things if you don’t need them.

It is very easy to use but it would be cool if the extension allowed for drag-and-drop ordering. I’m not going to complain though because once I set the order that I want there is really no need for me to go back and continuously adjust it. This one will definitely be going into my list of favorite extensions!

  1. Thanks Ryan I’m checking it out now. I was wanting this extensions capability to arrange the Status Bar & now I have it.

I’m also very happy about another extension, Roboform. Thought I would check to see about updates and voila, it works for Firefox 2.0RC2. When I went to extensions at the Mozilla site there was this for the Roboform extension:

    support FF ver 2.0.
since of course this site does not take 2 xpis, you can get it XPI for FF 2.0 here: [roboform.com] :D

  2. Drag & drop reordering of the statusbar should be a built-in feature for Firefox 3! How about someone add this to the feature requests… (I’m lazy)

  3. Why have an extension for something that can be accomplished using a simple userstyle?
    [userstyles.org]

Funny that you mentioned that because I was just checking that out too! I haven’t tried Roboform in a long long time so I thought I would give it a shot again, but I still don’t think I like it.

For those people who don’t want to install an extension then this is indeed a good solution, but you will have to find the ID for each item yourself if you don’t use this extension. I would say the extension is still a little more convenient.

  5. Very cool, I can see needing this with some of the un-needed garbage that gets added to this bar.
