If you are a Firefox fan (like me) then you may have heard about Firefox 1.5.0.1 being tested. This version of Firefox fixes a few bugs in the browser but has not officially been released.
It turns out that those people who were testing the Firefox 1.5 Beta were automatically upgraded to the beta version of Firefox 1.5.0.1, but only if you never installed the official version of Firefox 1.5! This is because Mozilla still has you listed as a beta tester, and if you don’t want to install the official Firefox 1.5 then you can get rid of the beta status by changing a file.
