You could also switch to Paste to tab:

While Tabmix Plus dev version works fine, I decided to abandon the extension because of the slow development and install separate extensions for what I need, probably saving resources at the same time.

That is definitely crazy that they haven't released a supported version. Their development build that supports Firefox 3 has been out for a long time, and I can't believe it isn't stable enough to be released as the final one.

Yeah I'm aware of the development build but I'd rather have a final version. I too am waiting for Paste and Go, but it appears to have been abandoned by the developer. Hence my frustration in my previous comment.

I tried Tab Mix Plus Dev-Build 0.3.7pre.080816 and it works fine for me. The only extension I'm still missing is Paste and Go.

For me it’s extensions. Does anyone else find it ridiculous that extensions like TabMix Plus still don’t have a final version ready for FF3? It’s not like they didn’t have plenty of time to work on it, they knew FF3 was coming. Yeah not Mozilla’s problem, I know. I’m getting tired of coming to depend on certain extensions only to have the developers either abandon them completely or take forever to update them. It may be time to break for Opera.

I am waiting to see If someone comes up with a method to stop Firefox from using IE7 or for the misinformed the Windows security zone settings. I cannot remove IE7 and I refuse to lower my security settings for IE7 in order to use Firefox. If I can’t find a work-around by mid December when support for FF2 ends. I will move to another browser.

I’m the extended family computer support person, and, a while back, I got everyone dependent upon Google Browser Sync. Since Google has abandoned this feature, I’m holding them back on Firefox 2 until I find something equivalent. The only hurdle is transparent password synchronization.

(FYI: *I* stopped using Google Browser Sync a while back. All my passwords are stored in KeyPass, encrypted on my thumb drive, with some of the trivial ones also stored on-line at clipperz.com.)

From the Mozilla site: "Firefox 2.0.0.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until mid-December, 2008. All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Firefox 3." Looks like you have until the end of the year.
