Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1 Put On Hold For 2 Weeks

There are a lot of people excited about the Alpha release of Firefox 2, including me. The Alpha release will not be feature complete but it will have several enhancements. Unfortunately, according to the meeting minutes, these enhancements are pushing back the release of Firefox 2 Alpha 1 by a few weeks.

When reading the minutes you get a pretty good idea of the hard work they are putting into making Firefox 2 as great as possible. Some of the planned enhancements to the tabs are being able to undo a closed tab, save your session, and putting a close tab button on each tab. Many of these features can already be found in extensions but they want to provide a more reliable and efficient user experience right after Firefox is downloaded. They will also be throwing in some RSS and Search Engine changes that will be quite nice.
