Hello CyberNet readers!

I’m Chris Rossini from CyberNet’s Learn Firefox. Today, I’m pleased to announce our newest feature: Firefox Themes!

Learn Firefox is a “Visual” guide. So we’ve created a screenshot directory of approximately 200 Firefox Themes.

Each and every theme is compatible with Firefox 2.0+. We will continue to monitor for any changes to the older themes. When they are made compatible with Firefox 2.0, they will be added to our directory.

Two things were kept in mind when creating this directory: Standardization and Speed.

Standardization

Each theme is presented to you in the exact same way. Here is an example of the Modern Aluminum theme:

As you can see, the above screenshot provides you a view of:

  • Toolbar Buttons
  • Tabs
  • Bookmarks Toolbar
  • Sidebar
  • Folders

Speed

We’ve broken down our directory into 4 sections. Each section contains approximately 50 themes. You can quickly scroll down each page to find your favorite theme(s).

Above each screenshot you’ll find a direct link to the Official Firefox Addons page for that theme. From there, you can download the theme, read developer notes, and check out user comments.

The links to our directory can be found below. Have fun!

  1. It is such a good idea.

If every FF theme programmer can provide such screenshot in the Mozilla Add-on Page, then you can concentrate on the speed analysis.

  2. The thing that I hate the most when searching for themes on Mozilla’s site is that the developers provide a screenshot of the buttons for their primary image. It takes several clicks to get to the page where you can see what the entire theme looks like in the browser, and Chris did a wonderful job of putting all of those themes on a page that is easy to scroll through.

I’m guessing that he skipped the themes that are in the sandbox, which I would have done as well. These are a hassle for anyone to download since you have to be logged in to access them, and this could confuse new users.

  3. If you are a forum site, then say so. I am looking for theme downloads, not a jabber site!

  4. I am looking for this “Modern Aluminum” I just re-installed my computer but now I can’t find the damn theme anymore..
Where can I still download this..?
