What happen to all the cool themes, I cant find any for Firefox 3, Please email me and tell me were I can find themes that work with this version asap sincerely, Cheri

It will take a little while for the theme developers to get around to updating them. So you just have to be patient.

There’s a couple of oddities on these in Ubuntu…

1: The Stop icon is just an X, not the outline-stop-sign pictured.

2: The menu titles disappear when you hover over them.

Anyone have a fix for the latter?

The only time I’ve heard about the menu titles disappearing when you hover over them is when people were using an incompatible theme. Are you using the default Firefox 3 theme in Ubuntu?

I just installed the latest nightly and I am already seeing the changes rolling into FF3. So far it seems fine, but I am sure there are more changes to come. Oh well, if we don’t like it we can always update our theme, that’s the great part of FF.

At this point there’s no way that I would go back to Firefox 2 mostly because the performance has gotten a lot better. The theme is just a minor part of Firefox because, as you mentioned, it can easily be changed. So that is the least of my concerns as well, but it can make a big difference on attracting new users.

Incidentally, for the very vocal types that don’t like them – that’s your call, but really, who cares what the interface looks like “out of the box” – In case you weren’t aware, the browser does support skins… check it out, it really is pretty cool.

I just think that many people prefer not to hassle with changing themes. I used to have custom themes, but lately I’ve just stuck with the defaults.

I actually like how Microsoft does the IE7 theme in Vista with the extra transparency, but I’m skeptical as to whether Mozilla would get to doing something like that.
