Nope…the DivShare link wasn’t dead, just malformed. I have since fixed it though. Yay! I’m sure it will be removed soon though so get it while you can.

And Cory, the two packs are 10MB and 2MB…looks like you just got your G’s confused with M’s.

I didn’t get them confused, it was PC World. The link takes you to the article starting the 10GB and 2GB file sizes. That’s why I asked because it sounded really large. I thought the problems was just UAC was checking permission with every file copy. I wondered why they would have to update almost the entire OS to fix the issue.

How the media didn’t demand a patch on release of Vista, I’ll never know. File copying was atrocious. Maybe people had different results – I copied a 60Kb file to the desktop and it took several seconds to start and complete.

Seriously, a joke of an OS.

I read that the pcworld.com]' rel="nofollow">The performance pack update weighed in at 10GB, while the compatibility pack was considerably smaller, at around 2GB. Are those numbers correct? They sound really high.

Wow, I thought Vista transferred faster than XP… at least for me. I no longer need to use Unstoppable Copier for fear that it will take 2 hours to transfer files.
